Petite Brownie with a Chocolate Hat

Petite Brownie...all dressed up!

FUN!   GREAT PRESENTION!   DELICIOUS!     Fairly simple! Small "brownie-bites" that can either be cut out of the brownie pan with a knife or mold; or made individually as shown below.

Feb 20, 2013

1. Create simple molds using strips of parchment paper. Cut the strips about an inch wide and 6 inches long. Secure with scotch tape. Place molds on a cookie sheet and pour prepared brownie mixture in the molds to about a 1/2 inch.

2. Bake the molds on a cookie sheet for about 1/2 the time recommended on the box instructions (325 degrees for 15-18 minutes seems to work for me.)

3. Let cool for a while then remove the parchment paper.

NOTE: The presentation is up to you. Start with a small scoop of vanilla ice creme on top of each petite brownie. The display above shows a plate drizzled with chocolate syrup and minced-walnuts with a chocolate "hat".

CHOCOLATE HAT: melt some chocolate chips mixed with a small amount of oil (example) . Using a spatula, spread the melted chocolate over the back side of a cookie sheet getting it as thin as possible. Freeze! When you remove the sheet from the freezer, it will be solid, thin and "breakable"!
